Escape Hood

One Exceptional Design!

The NBC Escape Hood is designed to provide protecion for people who may unexpectedly and suddenly find themselves in a hazardous situation. i.e. an incident involving the accidental or deliberate release of an industrial chemical or a chemcial warfare agent. The NBC Escape Hood is a one size fit all concept. The hood has an elasticated neck seal that is compatibly worn with facial hair and spectacles. As there are no straps involved there is no need for adjustment. The hood is simply pulled over the head to form a tight seal around the neck. The large clear visor enables good all round vision.

Manufacture and Safety

The hood has an integral silicone half mask for good fitting and comfort. For added safety and durability all seams are stitched and taped. The outer material is Polyurethan coated Polyester that provides excellent protection against a wide range of chemicals.

Filter

The hood is supplied with an A2B2E2K2 P3 combination filter that provides protection against a wide range of chemicals and chemical agents. The filter has a maximum five year shelf life.

Testing

In addition to conforming to EN standards the NBC Escape Hood has been subjected to a Sulphur Mustard vapour challenge at battle field exposure levels. The conclusion of the challenge, conducted at the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory at Porton Down, was that the NBC Escape Hood meets the current military requirement for vapour protection.

Stowage

The hood is supplied in a high visibility carrying case complete with belt loops and a shoulder strap that is easily carried on the person or stowed in a vehicle or work place.
